I am also 6'2" and 225lbs. I have an '87 Savage. It's not the most comfortable bike as it is stock but with a few mods it can be a great bike. I repadded the stock seat and added cafe' low style harley handlebars. Really helped the comfort level. The power is great for the kind of riding you want to do. I get alot of people telling me I need a bigger bike but I really like the Savage and plan to keep it till the wheels fall off. For what you will spend you will not find a better bike.
